The AltcoinList.com Research Framework
A six-lens process for turning token discovery into an evidence trail: purpose, adoption, market quality, tokenomics, security, and governance.

Keep observations separate until the end
Strong technology can coexist with weak token rights. Deep liquidity can coexist with concentrated control. Fast growth can be driven by temporary incentives. Separate panels preserve those tradeoffs.
Each note should identify the source, observation date, confidence, and what would change the conclusion.
Purpose and utility
Who uses the system, which problem it solves, what alternatives exist, and whether the token is necessary.
Adoption and retention
Category-specific usage, repeat behavior, fee-paying demand, integrations, and activity after incentives decline.
Market quality
Pairs, quote assets, spreads, depth, pools, venue concentration, volume quality, and access dependencies.
Tokenomics
Supply authority, allocations, unlocks, emissions, burns, ownership, fee flow, staking, and value path.
Technical resilience
Architecture, audits, incidents, dependencies, bridges, oracles, clients, upgrades, and recovery procedures.
Governance and control
Voting power, delegation, multisignatures, time locks, emergency authority, treasury control, and legal dependencies.
Required fields for a review memo
| Field | Purpose | Good practice |
|---|---|---|
| Research question | Defines the decision being supported. | One sentence, narrow enough to answer. |
| Primary evidence | Links conclusions to contracts, documentation, governance, and data. | Record source, date, and exact observation. |
| Project claims | Preserves what the team says without treating it as verified. | Label explicitly and seek independent confirmation. |
| Unknowns | Prevents gaps from becoming assumptions. | State what evidence would resolve each item. |
| Thesis | Explains what must become true. | Use falsifiable conditions, not slogans. |
| Invalidation | Defines evidence that weakens the thesis. | Use system events and risk thresholds. |
| Review trigger | Schedules the next check. | Tie it to an unlock, upgrade, vote, launch, or date. |
Apply the framework to a watchlist
The watchlist guide converts these fields into a maintainable research queue with stages, thesis notes, invalidation rules, and review dates.
